Paul Lincoln's family settled in the East End in the 1880s and recent works including Leaving Łódź [Festival of Print 2026 / Old Street DigitalCanvas] are inspired by the city from which they emigrated. This set of books moves from this history of migration towards belonging inthe City. It started with a period of printmaking and research at the Strzemiński Academy of Art in Łódź where time was spent walking around the city and charting the route of the former ghetto. On returning to London, walking, documenting and printmakingcontinued, this time constrained by the London Wall and the buildingsit enclosed.
